Paintballs to pistols, Israel admits ship blunders
Isreal's military had come big mistakes on Tuesday during the bungled boarding of a Gaza-bound aid ship in which troops killed nine international activists. One commentator demanded that Defense Minister step down. Cabinet members vowed to investigate, but their insistence that the pro-Palestinian activists had provoked the bloodshed. The secretive comando unit (Flotilla 13) was brought out to try and explain the operation's failing.
BP stock tumbles as feds announce oil-spill probes
BP had an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The engineers tried to recover from a failed attempt to stop it,but it will intially make the leak worse. After the six weeks of faluires to block the well BP was using robotic machines carve into twisted parts of the well. They are using tools to brake away broken pipes so the engeneers can put a cap over the wells opening. Even if it works it will increase the flow of the leak by 20 percent (at least 100,000 more gallons a day).

Issue #1- All Things Being Unequal

Summary-
The distance between the middle class and the top earners is growing. The middle class is getting lower wages and there are higher costs for health care, energy, child care, food, education, and retirement. There has been talk about income inequality and the impact it has on the middle class, and only a few agree on what the government should do (if anything). Advocates for government efforts to reduce income inequality think that the gap between the middle class and the top earners is unfairly wide. Some say the government should put restrictions on trade and outsourcing to protect domestic jobs and maintain salary levels. The attempt to protect domestic jobs is called Protectionism. Some argue that the government should increase the taxes on the wealthy and reduce taxes on the middle class and low income workers. Those opposed to the government efforts say it would reduce business profits and leave less to distribute to employees.
My Opinion-
I think that the government should be able to help and try and decrease the gap between the wealthy and the middle class. They should increase taxes on the wealthy and decrease taxes for the middle class and lower earners because the weathy are able to pay more but by taxing the middle class and lower earners the same that will just make the gap bigger between the weathy and the middle class and lower earners.

Suicide bombers kill 37 in Moscow’s subway
There were 2 suicide bombers on Moscows subway system Monday, which was jammed packed because of rush hour. They believe that at least 37 people died. Witnesses say that there was panic at two stations with people falling over eachother in the dense smoke and dust. Preliminary investigation put the blame on rebels from the restive Caucasus region. The bombs were filled with bolts and iron rods. Because of this the New York Metropolitan Transpotation Authority decided that a heightened security presence would be good.
Divers Reach South Korean Ship, Find No Sign of Life
This South Korean navel ship sank about 3 days ago because of an explosion that split the ship apart. Fifty eight others including the captain were rescued. The ship has waterproof cabins that if the doors were shut quickly some people could have survived the sunken ship. Even though we dont know exactly what what or where the explosion came from the South Korean defense cheif thinks that the North intentionally floated a mine to damage the ship.
Healthcare
President Obama believes that this will lower the costs of health insurance for small businesses and American families will have more control over health care. It will also expand coverage to millions and will end the worst practices of insurance companies. The Republicans are upset about the healthcare reform bill passing because they feel that this will put us more in debt than we already are and feel that other people shouldn't have to pay for others healthcare. I think that this is a good thing but also a bad thing. I think its good that everyone will have healthcare but I believe that this might bring our country into more debt and don't think other people should have to pay for others healthcare.

Will House Democrats Use A Legislative Trick To Get the Health Care Bill Passed without Actually Voting on It?
Nancy Pelosi believes that the health care bill is just the beginning and that once we get thorough this door there will be more legislation to come. Rep. Dennis Kucinich has changed what he thinks about the health care bill and says he will now vote for it. Massachusetts State Treasurer Tim Cahill thinks that passing this bill will make our country go bankrupt within four years. If this bill passes studies show that almost one-third of all U.S. doctors could leave the practice of medicine.

Issue #2

Congress passed a pay-as-you go budgeting messager in 2007 to help with the budget deficit. Having this “paygo” will cause tax increases and program cuts, this will make entitlement spending be offset with ruductions in spending elsewhere. Some say that pay as you go is a good thing because it shows that Congress knows about the budget deficit and that they are trying to fix it. Some say that this will help stop national debt from rising which they think could lead to economic downfall in the future. Others who don’t agree with the pay as you go will just make taxes rise and will hurt Americans and the economy. They think budget deficits should be eliminated by the growth of our economy not by tax increases and budget cuts. They also believe it will restrict Congress's ability to respond to national emergencies. Having these program cuts and budget increases they think it will anger voters.
I that this is a good thing to have, because than we will start paying off our debt. Obama said that this should be a law that we have to "Pay for what you spend is basic common sense." There are other representatives that believe this is responable and necessary. Even though this might cut some programs and raise taxes we will be able to get rid of our debt that was created over the years.
